Job Description

Quality Inspector / Certified Welding Inspector - 1st Shift We're looking for a Quality Inspector / Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join a strong manufacturing team. This role is ideal for someone who understands weld quality, fabrication standards, precision inspection, and the importance of accurate documentation. You'll inspect welded assemblies, structural steel, and manufactured parts to make sure they meet customer specifications, drawings, codes, and internal quality standards. What You'll Do Perform dimensional, layout, weld, and structural inspections Use precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, dial indicators, surface plates, and CMM equipment Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, customer specifications, and codes Perform visual weld inspections and identify defects or nonconforming conditions Conduct NDE inspections as qualified, including VT, PT, MT, or UT Document inspection results, rejected parts, and quality concerns Support root cause analysis and corrective action efforts Work with production, engineering, vendors, and quality teams to resolve issues Help train operators on weld quality, measurement techniques, and inspection requirements What We're Looking For Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required Minimum of 2 years of related technical experience Experience with dimensional inspection and precision measuring tools Ability to read blueprints, welding symbols, and technical specifications Strong math skills, including basic geometry and trigonometry Comfortable using computers for documentation and reporting Valid driver's license Ability to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship Preferred Qualifications Level II NDE certification in VT, PT, MT, or UT CMM operation or programming experience Experience inspecting structural steel or welded assemblies Technical degree or equivalent hands-on experience Physical Requirements This position requires standing for extended periods, reaching, bending, and using inspection tools throughout the day. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Work may involve shop equipment such as cranes, forklifts, or stand-up equipment.
