Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a Quality Technician to join J&D, a local family owned business. The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting the Quality Department by performing inspections, testing, and documentation activities to ensure products meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements. This role plays a key part in maintaining product quality, identifying nonconformances, and supporting continuous improvement efforts across the organization. Duties Perform incoming, in-process, and final product inspections according to inspection plans, control plans, and specifications. Use measurement tools such as inspection arms, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and gauges to verify product conformance. Document inspection results accurately in quality records, inspection reports, and electronic systems. Identify, document, and report nonconforming material; assist with segregation and disposition activities. Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions. Assist with internal audits and preparation for customer or regulatory audits. Verify that manufacturing processes follow approved work instructions and quality standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, safety, and efficiency. Maintain calibration status and verification of inspection equipment as assigned. Communicate quality issues clearly with production, estimating, and supervision. Follow all safety, quality, and company policies at all times. Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or technical training in Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering preferred. 1-3 years of quality, inspection, or manufacturing experience preferred (entry-level candidates may be considered). Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems. Skills & Abilities Basic understanding of quality systems and inspection methods. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Working knowledge of measuring and inspection tools. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Basic math and computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, or quality software). Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 70 pounds as required. Visual acuity sufficient to perform detailed inspections. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures. Work Environment Manufacturing or production environment. Require use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Possible shift work, overtime, or weekend work as needed.
Pay:
$22.00 - $26.00 per hour
