Job Description
Quality Control Inspector Sussex, WI 53089 $26
- $30 an hour

- Verify conformance of incoming materials to known customer standards and technical specifications by conducting visual examinations, inspections, and tests; rejecting and assisting in the return of unacceptable materials.
- Perform and document in-process, final inspection and test activities for production-related operations by verifying conformance to known specifications; conducting visual examinations, inspections, and tests; communicating nonconforming conditions to the necessary production personnel; and verifying that all nonconformances are closed prior to release of product to the customer.
- Initiate and implement the corrective action process whenever conditions adverse to quality are identified and communicated.
- Ensure timely identification, communication, and resolution of nonconformances, including verification that all issues are properly closed prior to product release.
- Serve as a qualified auditor and technical specialist for both internal and external audits.
- Must be able to pass an in-house written examination to qualify as a Quality Control Inspector.
- Partner with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and improve production processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, ASME Code, jurisdictional requirements, and customer specifications.
- Support workforce development by training and mentoring employees on quality standards, inspection techniques, and continuous improvement practices.
- Manage workload priorities, including overtime needs and special projects, to meet operational and customer demands.
- Accomplishes quality and organizational objectives by completing assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Operate lift equipment and cranes to safely move parts and pumps.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Monitor and maintain inspection, measurement, and test equipment (IM&TE); coordinate repairs and maintenance to IM&TE with approved suppliers as necessary.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must possess the ability to interpret and analyze data; understand and systematically follow policies, procedures, and processes; read and interpret drawings and specifications; document and report inspection and test results; steadfastly promote process improvement; understand and follow safety protocols; understand and support organizational change processes to promote and improve quality in the workplace.
- Exhibit knowledge in manufacturing methods; visual inspection and surveillance methods; metrology; calibration; inspection and test methods; procurement; corrective action; and document control.
- Demonstrate conviction toward quality and attention to detail. Understand the purpose and function of quality plans, job travelers, procedures, instructions, forms, and other quality control documentation.
- Able to build and maintain relationships while demonstrating professionalism and poise toward customers, vendors and co-workers in the workplace. Possess the ability to work on assigned tasks with little supervision.
- Ability to read and interpret measurements including utilizing a variety of measuring devices.
- Strong ability to utilize technical knowledge and analytical skills to resolve problems and objections from both internal and external forces.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read and calculate figures such as measurements, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Requires the ability to operate a variety of small hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, lift equipment and cranes.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Experience:
High School Diploma or GED is required. Associate's degree or above in an engineering-related or technical field is favorable. Prior involvement withASME, ISO
9001, AISC, or other QA/QC certification programs is preferred. Prior knowledge and/or experience with pump operation, fabrication, or repair is desired.
