Job Description

Job description: Sewing Machine Operator This position is part of the Sewing Team. This position reports to the Sewing Floor Supervisor. This position is full-time. The Sewing Machine Operator is the primary role of Dignity Apparel operations and has the greatest part to play in ensuring that we make excellent garments, hitting our production goals and maintaining high levels of quality. In this role, an operator will be provided extensive training to become a well-rounded sewing machine operator, able to complete a variety of different sewing operations that go into making a wide variety of different products. As an operator grows in skill, base pay for the position increases with the number of operations that have been learned. As an operator grows in efficiency, hourly pay for the position increases with the number of operations completed and garments produced.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate an automatic sewing machine, training to become skilled in multiple different sewing operations for a variety of garments. Progress from basic training to become a Level 1-4 sewing machine operator. Inspect and repair finished products as needed, ensuring garments are completed with a high level of quality. Attach elastic, cord, zippers, hooks, buttons and other trimmings to sewn pieces according to work order instructions and diagrams. Meet or exceed consistent daily and weekly goals for efficiency and quality. Conduct basic, routine daily maintenance on sewing machines to ensure proper functioning.

QUALIFICATIONS
Exemplary in living out Dignity Apparel values and culture each and every day. Must be at least 18 years old and able to work with industrial machines. Must have good physical (hand/eye) coordination. Able to lift 10-30 lbs. regularly with reasonable accommodation. Ability to stand for extended periods of time and handle physical workload. Reliable and punctual. Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment. Strong work ethic, including team and goal orientation. Self-motivated, positive attitude, willingness to learn. Some experience with sewing machines preferred.
