$52,000•$55,000 per year RMCAD is seeking a Boiler Operator to support the safe, reliable, and energy‑efficient operation of the college's historic campus infrastructure. This role ensures consistent building comfort by operating, monitoring, and maintaining boiler systems and related mechanical equipment while upholding safety standards and preserving aging facilities. Essential Responsibilities Operate boilers, engines, boiler feed pumps, circulating pumps, and water softeners Monitor boiler water quality, chemical levels, fuel levels, pressure, temperature, and plant air quality Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of boiler components (tubes, fire boxes, etc.) Repair and replace boiler parts as needed Inspect equipment to ensure efficient operation and verify safety device functionality Maintain accurate logs of operations, maintenance, and safety activities Respond to emergency work orders and notify supervisors of major repair needs Wear required PPE including hearing protection, respirators, coveralls, hard hats, safety glasses, and safety shoes Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED Boiler operator license (or ability to obtain) Experience with boiler systems or welding Physical stamina to perform hands‑on mechanical work Mechanical aptitude and ability to work safely around heat, pressure, and moving equipment Preferred Qualifications Experience working with historic or aging mechanical infrastructure Familiarity with water treatment systems and mechanical troubleshooting Working Conditions and Physical Demands Exposure to loud noise levels requiring personal protective equipment Work may involve temperature extremes, wet or humid conditions, and mechanical, chemical, or electrical hazards Requires lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling; frequent standing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching Requires physical mobility and stamina for strenuous activities Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70-100 pounds Our Benefits Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance Basic Life & AD&D Short & Long Term Disability Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays 401k employer match Tuition Waiver Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design is an Equal Opportunity Employer
