Job Description

An industrial steam plant control systems integrator located near New Haven, Connecticut, is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to design combustion control and burner management systems.

Candidates must have prior PLC programming experience . Experience with boilers, burners, controls, and instrumentation is preferred; however, these skills can be taught to the right candidate. The ideal applicant will possess strong technical abilities, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of meeting project goals and objectives. Job Type Full-Time Why This Is a Great Opportunity Review project specifications to ensure compliance with customer requirements. Develop control system wiring diagrams and logic diagrams using AutoCAD. Program various Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and touchscreen operator interfaces to execute required control algorithms. Primary platforms include Allen-Bradley CompactLogix and ControlLogix processors. Experience with additional PLC platforms is a plus. Program loop controllers for combustion control systems, including: Siemens 353 Preferred PCCIII Yokogawa YS1700 Develop and configure SCADA systems using: Proficy iFIX Wonderware Select and specify instrumentation for flow, pressure, and temperature measurement applications. Provide technical support to the sales team during project development and proposal stages. Prepare technical submittals, operator training materials, and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals. Support control system fabrication, commissioning, and startup activities, including: Factory acceptance testing (FAT) Installation supervision Troubleshooting and diagnostics Instrument calibration Loop testing Safety limit testing Combustion testing in coordination with field service engineers Travel regionally as required to support commissioning and startup activities. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Minimum 5 years of PLC programming experience. Minimum 5 years of AutoCAD (ACAD) experience. Strong technical and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines. Experience with industrial boilers, burners, combustion controls, instrumentation, and steam plant operations. Experience with SCADA system development and industrial automation projects.
