at Department of Human Services in Elgin, Illinois, United States Job Description Position Overview The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire a Stationary Engineer for the Elgin Mental Health Center located in Elgin, Illinois to receive day-to-day guidance and assignments from the Stationary Engineer Chief. Maintains and repairs various mechanical systems and auxiliary and powerhouse equipment for the Elgin Mental Health Center. Installs, maintains and repairs the heating, ventilating and air conditioning ( HVAC ) operational systems. Makes rounds of buildings’ boiler and mechanical rooms at regular intervals. Makes and records tests of water used for consumption or for generating steam and hydraulic hot water and chilled water systems. Reports complaints and emergency calls to supervisor. Travels in performance of job duties. Essential Functions Receives day-to-day guidance and assignments from the Stationary Engineer Chief and/or designee at the Elgin Mental Health Center. Makes rounds of buildings’ boiler and mechanical rooms at regular intervals.
