Sandblast Operator Job Description The Sandblast Operator sets up and operates sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare building surfaces, troubleshoots basic equipment issues, and works safely while handling high-pressure hoses and wearing fully enclosed protective gear. Responsibilities Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare building surfaces according to specifications. Handle and control a 2-inch, 100-foot hose safely and effectively during sandblasting operations. Wear and maintain a fully enclosed protective mask and related safety gear at all times while blasting. Troubleshoot basic issues with sandblasting equipment and perform minor adjustments to maintain proper operation. Follow established safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work area. Inspect work surfaces before and after sandblasting to ensure quality and completeness. Assist with general setup and cleanup of the work area and equipment as needed. Communicate any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly to the appropriate personnel. Essential Skills Ability to operate or learn to operate sandblasting equipment safely. Comfort working while wearing a fully enclosed mask for extended periods. Physical ability to handle and maneuver a 2-inch, 100-foot hose during sandblasting. Basic mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot minor equipment issues. Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions consistently. Reliability to work scheduled shifts and occasional overtime as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous sandblasting experience is a plus but not required. Manufacturing experience is beneficial. Construction experience is beneficial. Willingness to work in an industrial environment with protective equipment. Why Work Here? The position requires wearing a fully enclosed protective mask and other safety gear while working, and involves handling a 2-inch, 100-foot hose under high pressure. The environment is hands-on and physically active, with a focus on safety and proper use of sandblasting equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Bardstown, KY.
