SUMMARY :
This position is responsible for monitoring oil and gas-fired steam generating boilers and associated equipment such as air compressors, hydraulic pumps, feed pumps, boiler controls including safety devices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate and perform day to day maintenance and repair duties on a large variety of plant equipment not limited to boiler room. Monitor and maintain boilers and their auxiliaries, Perform maintenance on boiler systems and their valves, gauges, piping, and other equipment. Inspect fluids and replace filters. Record daily reading, adjust equipment. Notify Chief Engineer of any operating difficulties or off standard conditions. Perform cleaning, painting or organized tasks as requested. Inspect and make adjustments to the Wastewater System. Perform other duties as required or requested.

None
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
: High School diploma or GED; or 1 to 3 months of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Massachusetts Second Class Fireman's license required. Training or experience as a Boiler Operator for 1 to 3 years.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to read, write, and speak in English and have good interpersonal skills. Must be able to perform shop mathematics and have a mechanical aptitude. Requires good judgement to plan, perform and make decisions as to sequence of setups, operations and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods of procedure.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work environment consists of Boiler Room area where they may be exposure to noise, heat, smells and chemicals. Exposure to wet or humid conditions (non-weather) 1/3 of time. Working near moving mechanical parts over 2/3 of time. Working in high precarious places 1/3 of time. Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals 1/3 of time. Risk of electrical show over 2/3 of the time. Exposure to extreme heat over 2/3 of the time. Moderate to loud noise levels over 2/3 of the time.
