5-19-26 Summary Start, Stop, Regulate, Monitor, and Control High Temperature Hot Water Boilers, large (3500 ton) Centrifugal Chillers, Cooling Towers, Pumps, and Auxiliary Equipment. Primary Duties
  • Check and adjust related set points to optimize plant performance and reliability.
  • Maintain logs, records, and data sheets; prepare reports, timesheets, material requisitions, work orders, and other administrative documents related to plant operations.
  • Observe, record, and interpret indications from instrumentation and control systems. Calculate, evaluate, and report findings.
  • Perform functional testing of and assist in the investigation of problems with plant systems and components. Support plant maintenance and engineering personnel with such efforts.
  • Collect and test water samples for compliance with water treatment program. Make appropriate adjustments to water treatment equipment.
  • Participate in the development, review, and revision of standard operating procedures.
  • Perform routine preventative and predictive maintenance on all systems and equipment; support corrective maintenance efforts on selected equipment.
  • Perform Housekeeping duties as required. Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Five (5) Years Operator experience in a heating and cooling plant, power plant or industrial environment; technical training and previous success in performing technical functions in a power plant environment preferred.
  • Must hold a NIULPE 2'nd Class Power Engineer license or be able to attain within 1 year of employment.
  • Must hold valid OSHA 10 Hour General Industry Safety certification.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety procedures and/or rules, operation and maintenance manuals, and written directions. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Stationary Engineer II are expected to possess the skills, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
  • Stationary Engineer II shall furnish hand tools appropriate for the safe and efficient performance of the position.
  • Must be proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and CMMS software programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Display professional behavior at all times. Physical Demands
  • Mist be able to routinely lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and in and out of valve pits.
  • Must be able to be on feet for duration of shift if necessary.
  • Personal Protective Equipment must be worn in performance of some duties
  • Work with hazardous materials may be required.
  • Position requires a post-offer physical examination and drug screening. Work Environment
  • Stationary Engineer II can be expected to work in an Industrial environment.
  • Be expected to work in confined spaces.
  • Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work as required by schedule, work load, and plant conditions.
  • No smoking or use of any tobacco products, e-cigarettes or vapor nicotine delivery system permitted anywhere at the facility.
