Full‑time, contract assignment (may become permanent role with company) Overview LTD Staffing Services is seeking experienced Steam Plant Boiler Operators and Steam Distribution Technicians to support the Client's central plant operations. These positions ensure safe, compliant, and reliable operation of high‑pressure boilers, steam distribution systems, and related mechanical equipment serving campus facilities. Responsibilities Operate, monitor, and maintain high‑pressure steam boilers and auxiliary equipment Perform routine inspections, adjustments, and preventive maintenance on boilers, pumps, valves, and steam distribution lines Troubleshoot boiler and steam system issues and perform corrective repairs Monitor system pressures, temperatures, water levels, and chemical treatment requirements Document all work performed in accordance with University and State of North Carolina standards Support campus steam distribution, including condensate return systems and hydronic loops Follow all safety, environmental, and operational protocols Communicate equipment status, issues, and repair needs to University Facilities Management Minimum Requirements Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining commercial or institutional boiler systems Knowledge of steam distribution, condensate return, and hydronic systems Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and safety procedures Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently in a campus facilities environment Must pass background check and meet all State of North Carolina compliance requirements Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in higher‑education, government, or public‑sector facilities Experience with high‑pressure steam systems and campus‑wide distribution networks Compensation $25/ hourly rate based on experience and contract guidelines.
