Job Description

Overview:
The Ovens Lead Person plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Ovens department. This position provides hands-on leadership to production line employees, ensuring that safety, food quality, and performance standards are consistently met. The Lead Person works closely with the Ovens Supervisor to coordinate workflow, monitor compliance, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced meat processing environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Ovens Supervisor in managing daily production activities and shift assignments. Lead and guide line workers with a focus on safety, teamwork, and high-quality output. Set clear expectations and communicate goals to team members. Monitor employee adherence to operational standards, food safety protocols, and company policies. Provide on-the-floor support, coaching, and motivation to team members. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments. Enforce company rules and procedures to maintain a safe and respectful work environment. Observe line performance and suggest improvements or adjustments as needed. Support training of new employees and help ensure proper equipment operation.
Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 2-4 years of experience in a production or team lead role, preferably in food manufacturing. Ability to operate or quickly learn ovens and related equipment. Strong understanding of food safety, quality standards, and production operations. Good written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively. Ability to assess product quality and uphold regulatory and company standards. Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and delegate when appropriate. Capable of coaching and motivating team members in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable working in cold environments and on concrete floors Sufficient written communication and reading skills Ability to operate or to quickly learn equipment Good time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Ability to follow directions Ability to assess products for quality compliance Work Environment & Physical Demands The work environment characteristics & physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of the job.
