Location:
Omaha, Nebraska Position Overview We are seeking a reliable and experienced Licensed Boiler Operating Engineer (minimum 3rd grade license or higher) to manage and maintain boiler systems and related equipment for our clients facilities. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in ensuring efficient and safe operations of high-pressure steam boilers, auxiliary systems, and plant utilities. As a key member of the facilities operations team, you'll be responsible for monitoring, controlling, and maintaining mechanical and thermal systems to support uninterrupted building performance while adhering to all regulatory and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Operate and monitor boilers, steam distribution systems, water treatment and feed systems, and associated plant equipment. Perform routine rounds and checks to verify proper functioning and safety compliance of all mechanical systems. Adjust controls and make system corrections to maintain optimal boiler performance and efficiency. Conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on boilers, pumps, valves, gauges, piping, and related equipment. Maintain accurate operational logs, records, and reports in accordance with facility procedures and regulatory requirements. Respond to alarms, emergency situations, and unscheduled downtime events in a timely manner. Coordinate with maintenance trades, contractors, and management on larger repair/installation projects. Follow established safety protocols and local/state boiler codes at all times. Participate in on-call rotation and be available for shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, when required. Qualifications Valid 3rd Grade (or higher) Boiler Operating Engineering License (or equivalent stationary engineer certification recognized by Nebraska authorities). Proven experience operating commercial and industrial boiler systems (typically 3+ years preferred). Solid mechanical aptitude and understanding of steam systems, HVAC, pumps, water chemistry, and control systems. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and boiler instrumentation. Strong record-keeping and communication skills. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team, with a focus on safety and quality. Competitive Salary Range $70,000 - $87,000+ per year base salary.
