Job Title:
Boiler Operator Job Description The Operating Engineer Class 2 plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the facility's mechanical systems. This position involves monitoring and troubleshooting equipment, following preventive maintenance schedules, and operating high-capacity boilers. The role requires the ability to install and maintain a variety of mechanical equipment and systems, as well as apply water treatment processes. Responsibilities Monitor and troubleshoot assigned equipment. Follow preventive maintenance schedules for testing, cleaning, planned repairs, equipment lubrication, and operation. Install and maintain mechanical equipment within the plant operations area. Operate and maintain boilers with a capacity up to and exceeding 12,500,000 BTU/hr. Test, calculate, and apply water treatment to various water systems including boiler condensate and cooling towers. Collect and analyze utilities data for performance trends. Read and interpret building and control drawings. Essential Skills Experience in boiler maintenance and facilities maintenance. Ability to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment lubrication. Proficiency in installing and maintaining mechanical systems and plant equipment. Skill in operating and maintaining high-capacity boilers and related systems. Competence in applying water treatment to heating and cooling systems. Capability to collect and review utility data for performance trends. Ability to interpret building and control drawings for maintenance tasks. Work Environment The work environment is within a hospital setting, involving frequent exposure to physical and chemical hazards, including extremes in temperature, chemicals, fumes, and dusts. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oklahoma City, OK. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
