"We Make Materials That Create Solutions" The UV Coater Operator will be responsible for:

• Leading in the operations of the UV Coater to ensure the machines are running on schedule at company standards.
• Making necessary changes and set-ups as needed to insure customer deliveries. This includes and not limited to any coating mixtures, proper sleeve and analox roller installed and UV lamp setting.
• Identifying that the material for each job is correct.
• Loading and unloading the machine, which will require use of a forklift.
• Must be able to safely operate a forklift and maintain OSHA regulated certification.
• Proper splicing technique and flagging.
• Completing a checklist, job traveler worksheet, samples and makes the necessary entries into Epicor.
• Making sure the machine is running properly, making adjustments or repairs as needed to maintain efficiencies in production and reduction of waste.
• To properly understand the operations screen, manual switches, Miltec lamp screen and start/stop/ run procedures.
• Must watch web for detects in quality. (see quality defects guide)
• Make sure areas of the plant are keep clean and safe, assign work as needed to maintain.
• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.

Competency of position requirements:

• The UV Coater Operator needs the skill to control operations of equipment or systems.
• The UV Coater Operator needs the skill to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
• The UV Coater Operator needs the skill to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents in order to do their job function properly.
• The UV Coater Operator turns control dials of machines to regulate speed of coating head, UV lamps, and flow of chemicals that maintain specified coat weight.
• The UV Coater Operator turns setscrews to adjust distance between coating rollers that control thickness of coating.
• The UV Coater Operator measures thickness of coating using wet film gauge.
• The UV Coater Operator starts pump that fills coating machine reservoir.
• The UV Coater Operator examines coated material workpieces for defects, such as, uncoated surfaces.
• Must be able to stand for 8 hours.

Responsible to operate UV Coating machine to coat any of a wide variety of materials, including but not limited to, papers, plastics and foils with silicone and non silicone coatings.
