Job Description
Stationary Engineer Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
Must obtain 1st Grade License within 6 months of hire
Experience
Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with: Boilers and steam systems
Condensate pumps
Deaerator (DA) tanks
Boiler feedwater systems
Chillers and cooling systems
Technical Skills
Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable using ladders up to 30 feet
Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, and lift

Stationary Engineer Duties and Responsibilities:
12-hour rotating shift Operate, monitor, and maintain high-pressure boilers, chillers, and utility systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operations
Responsible for plant performance and operational decision-making
Perform startup, shutdown, and load adjustments of boilers and auxiliary equipment
Monitor and control:
Steam pressure and temperature
Boiler feedwater and condensate systems
Cooling towers and chilled water systems
Ensure compliance with City of Houston regulations, company policies, and safety standards
Enforce and follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and proper equipment isolation
Respond to equipment failures and system upsets, minimizing downtime and maintaining reliability
Perform routine inspections and log readings of:
Boilers and pressure systems
Pumps, valves, and compressors
Mechanical and electrical equipment
Coordinate and assist with preventive and corrective maintenance activities
Maintain accurate logs, reports, and operational records
Ensure proper water treatment and chemical control for boilers and cooling systems
Identify equipment deficiencies and recommend repairs or system improvements
Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety policies, PPE requirements, and hazard reporting procedures
Work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
