Job Description

Company Overview Lower Family Foods is a family-owned meat processing business with a rich history spanning four generations. Located in Richmond Utah, we are committed to providing high-quality, premium meats that meet strict standards and satisfy our customers' expectations. Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kettle Cook Operator to join our production team. This role is responsible for operating kettle cooking equipment and packaging machinery to produce safe, high-quality meat products in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. No prior experience is required — we provide full on-the-job training. This position offers stable hours and opportunities for growth within the company. Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 4:30 PM - 12:00 AM. Consistent and stable hours with no weekend requirement. Wage Starting at 20$ an hour. Responsibilities Weigh and add raw materials to kettles according to formulation instructions. Control and monitor cooking parameters to meet Critical Control Point (CCP) limits. Set up packaging equipment including piping, pumps, and film. Package cooked product and place on racks for cooling; transfer racks to cooler. Verify product weights and package integrity to ensure quality standards are met. Assemble and disassemble kettle and packaging equipment for cleaning and product changeovers. Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas in accordance with company GMPs and SOPs. Break down room equipment to prepare for sanitation at end of shift. Fulfill production orders accurately and on time. Report any food safety, quality, or equipment concerns to a supervisor or management promptly. Skills No experience required; on-the-job training provided. Ability to read and follow written formulation instructions, SOPs, and work orders. Basic math skills for weighing, measuring, and portioning. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to food safety and product quality. Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate openly with coworkers and supervisors. Willingness to take initiative, seek out responsibilities, and pursue growth opportunities. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand for extended periods throughout the shift. Must be able to lift 25 lbs or more on a regular basis. Must be comfortable working in cold environments, including cooler areas.
