Melt Operator

Job Summary Melts and pours all alloys produced by Stainless Foundry on any furnaces within the Sand and Investment melt departments as well as filling in on any position in the Sand and Investment foundry by performing the following duties. Job Responsibilities MUST be able to work 12am-11am, 4 days/week Charges and melts metal for pouring of molds. Performs tapping of metal from the furnace to ladle and from the ladle to the molds. Completes the required paperwork. Pours and melts a wide variety of alloys. Make corrective adds to the furnace. Responsible for knock out and relining of the furnaces. Setups and pours bed as needed. Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical requirement for this position require continuous standing and intermittent walking, bending, and assisted lifting of parts that at times may be in excess of 50 pounds. This position also requires to reach with hands and arms and to use hands to handle or feel parts. The employee is regularly exposed to fumes, moving mechanical parts and extreme heat.

$24.00 - $26.00 per hour
