Bench Mechanic (temp to hire): Pay $18-20 1st shift - 7:00AM-4:00PM (OT
REQUIRED
) Job Summary Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products. Performs all deburring operations. Strip remaining maskant and silstic from finished chem mill parts. Removes burrs and sharp edges by use of various hand tools and materials such as files andedge breakers. Smoothes edges and removes build ups with air or electric equipment using abrasive diskand sleeves. Operates burring equipment using countersink, grinding wheels, burring rolls, bench grinders, rotary files, drill presses and jitterbug. Control thickness by using ultrasonic gages and micrometers calipers, scales to work to close tolerances +/-.002. Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area. Performs other duties as assigned including leading projects and participation in project committees. Required Skills and Qualifications Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend instructions such as blue prints and shop drawings, chem. mill templates with an emphasis on chemical milling features, excess and special conditions. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
