Job Description
Job Summary HiRel Connectors Inc. (HIRELCO) is an industry leader whose expertise is in designing and manufacturing custom and MIL-Spec interconnect products for a variety of industries including Aerospace and Defense. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tool & Mold Maker to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, repairing, and maintaining precision molds and tooling. Duties Manufacture tools and molds used in the production of rubber and plastic aerospace components Build jigs, fixtures, dies, molds, cutting tools, gauges, and other precision tooling Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to lay out and mark designs on raw materials
- Machine components using: Manual equipment (lathes, milling machines, grinders, jig grinders) Power tools (die grinders, rotary tools) and Hand tools (files, honing stones) Cut, shape, and trim materials to required specifications using saws, shears, and precision tools Assemble, fit, and adjust tooling components to ensure proper alignment and function File, grind, shim, polish, and finish parts to achieve required tolerances and surface finishes • Perform mold and tool repair, modification, and preventative maintenance • Conduct test runs of tools and molds; troubleshoot and adjust as needed to meet specifications • Inspect finished tools for contour accuracy, smoothness, and defects • Lift, position, and secure components using hoists, vises, V-blocks, and angle plates Collaborate with Engineering and Production to optimize tooling performance • Utilize CAD software (e.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or apprenticeship preferredExperience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a tool room or mold-making environment- Strong understanding of mold construction and tooling processes
- Ability to analyze specifications and fabricate precision tools accordingly
- Ability to measure, verify, and maintain tight tolerances
- Ability to plan tooling builds from engineering drawings
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair molds and tooling
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per yearBenefits:
