Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker to support precision manufacturing operations in the aerospace sector. The role involves building, repairing, and maintaining high-precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in the production of aerospace components. The ideal candidate will ensure all tooling meets strict quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, fabricate, and assemble precision tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures used in aerospace manufacturing. Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models. Operate machining equipment such as CNC machines, lathes, grinders, and milling machines. Perform tool adjustments, repairs, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with engineers and production teams to improve tooling efficiency and product quality. Ensure compliance with aerospace standards, tolerances, and specifications. Inspect finished tools using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges). Troubleshoot tooling issues and implement corrective actions. Maintain documentation for tooling designs, modifications, and maintenance records. Follow all safety procedures and quality control guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in Tool & Die Making preferred. 3-7+ years of experience in tool and die making, preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing. Experience with Carbide dies in manufacturing. Strong knowledge of machining processes, materials, and heat treatment methods. Ability to read and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Proficiency with CNC programming and CAD/CAM software is a plus. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
