Full-time Tool & Machinist Niche Top in Class Manufacturing Company Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full-time Tool & Die Maker to join our top-tier manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional proficiency in set-up, tool repair, and conventional machining. This role is crucial in maintaining and enhancing our manufacturing capabilities, ensuring the production of high-quality components that meet stringent industry standards. Key Responsibilities Design, fabricate, modify, and repair a wide range of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges used in manufacturing processes Set up and operate various conventional machines, including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to produce precision tools and dies Perform preventive maintenance on tools, dies, and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with tools and dies, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and quality control teams to improve manufacturing processes and product quality Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards Maintain accurate records of tool and die maintenance, repairs, and modifications Train and mentor junior tool and die makers, sharing knowledge and best practices Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste in the manufacturing process Stay updated on the latest advancements in tool and die making techniques and technologies Qualifications and Skills High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or associate degree in tool and die making preferred Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Tool & Die Maker or related manufacturing industries Extensive knowledge of materials, metallurgy, and heat treatment processes used in manufacturing Proficient in reading and interpreting complex technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications Expert-level skills in operating conventional machines such as lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses Strong understanding of precision measurement techniques and tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMM) Familiarity with CNC programming and operation is a plus Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime and weekends as needed
