Sorenson Engineering is seeking candidates with experience inspecting products using quality plans and various metrologies including, concentricity gauges, drop gauges, pin gauges, OGP, Keyence, and VICI devices.
Summary:
Manage inventory, supply, and delivery of machine tooling and gages. Level I Entry-level position responsible for creating conversion packages. Be able to interpret manufacturing control plans, use basic measurement equipment, be able to follow detailed engineering plans to support machines, and work cross-functionally within supporting departments. Level II Perform all Level I functions with minimal support from setup technicians and engineering. Quote, order, and inspect machine tooling. Assist troubleshooting manufacturing processes, when needed. Plan organization and management of inventory.
Essential Job Functions:
Create job setup packages, process EOE packages, facilitate SEI tooling requests, and assemble kitted tooling and gages for Machine Technicians.
Work with inventory equipment and database software for physical and virtual inventory management.
Order, receive, and inspect tooling and gages, based on department need and/or coordinator level.
Be familiar with machine configurations and tooling.
When applicable, pre-set the cutting tools in tool holders prior to machine setup.
Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiar with AS9100 Quality Requirements. Knowledge of administrative procedures. Manages paper files and electronic records. Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of GD&T, ability to interpret manufacturing control plans, good analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to interpret instructions both written and oral. Able to work in a team with co-workers to resolve work issues. Able to communicate effectively in English.
Education and Experience:
Minimum High School Diploma or GED preferred. Knowledge and experience with general office systems and procedures. Previous work experience in manufacturing setting preferred but not necessary for level I and a requirement for level II.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand long periods of time, occasionally exert push force up to 50 pounds, must have good eyesight and hand dexterity, and able to identify and distinguish colors.
Work Environment:
Will be exposed to noise, moving mechanical parts, oils/solvents, fumes, and odors that may affect the eyes, ears, nose, throat and/or skin.
