Will need knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Participation in die design reviews, DFM, prototyping and development activities are routine. Cost estimating experience a plus.
Essential Job Functions:
Designs progressive dies, tools, fixtures, and gages per customer specifications, and/or in accordance with Lyons Standards. Produces detailed drawings, specifications, and component lists. Provides strip layouts and assembly drawings to customers for external design reviews, as required. Issues engineering drawings upon completion of the design. Updates engineering drawings per Toolmaker's notes and mark-ups, if any, upon completion of build. Solicits quotations for all components associated with the build of the tool. Generates bills of material for raw materials and purchased components.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Previous experience designing complex progressive dies, in a manufacturing environment, is required. Experience utilizing SolidWorks and AutoCAD required 5+ years of stamping die design experience Cost estimating experience a plus Lyons is a manufacturer of Complex Metal Stampings, CNC Machined Parts, Mechanical Assemblies, Progressive Dies and Rapid Prototypes.
