We are seeking a class A machinist with at least 5 years' experience in making precision gauges for aircraft parts. Substantial overtime possible but not required. Individual will train to craft precision tools and gauges (from detail drawings), work to tight tolerance, and be able to inspect your own work.
Tool Maker Responsibilities:
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, and CAD drawings.
- Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances.
- Measuring and marking metal stock for machining.
- Setting up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines.
- Cutting and shaping blocks and locators to specified dimensions.
- Fitting and assembling tools and gages.
- Inspecting finished tools and gages for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities.
Tool Maker Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of machine tools and their uses.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design schematics.
- Extensive experience (minimum 5 years) with metalworking tools including drills, milling machines, grinders, and lathes.
- Excellent attention to detail.
