Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Toolmaker to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds that are essential for our production processes. Your expertise will ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety across our operations. Duties Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD to develop precise tooling solutions. Program CNC machines including CNC lathes, milling machines, and stamping presses to produce high-accuracy components. Operate precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges to ensure tooling meets strict tolerances. Fabricate tooling components through machining processes like electrical discharge machining (EDM), welding, fabrication, and plastics injection molding. Set up and operate CNC programming software including CAM programming to optimize machining operations. Maintain detailed documentation of tooling designs, modifications, and repairs using schematics and technical drawings. Conduct inspections of finished tools using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to verify accuracy and quality. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot tooling issues and implement continuous improvements for efficiency. Perform routine maintenance on tools and machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Requirements Proven experience as a Toolmaker in Tool & Die, Pattern, Mold Maker or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD for designing tooling components. Strong knowledge of CNC programming for lathe, milling machine, and stamping press operations. Skilled in electrical discharge machining (EDM), welding techniques, fabrication methods, and plastics injection molding processes. Familiarity with GD&T principles for precise measurement and quality control. Ability to operate precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and other precision tools. Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of schematics, electrical systems, and manufacturing principles. Experience working with hand tools, fabrication equipment, CNC machines, and assembly processes. Excellent math skills for interpreting technical drawings and performing measurements accurately.
