Role Definition:
Are you looking for an opportunity to learn a specialized skill within a manufacturing environment? Caterpillar Building KK in East Peoria, IL is looking to train new employees that desire to become our next employees in Heat Treat. The Metal Treating Specialist Trainee program is a paid program designed to provide a unique learning experience for highly motivated individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in manufacturing and learning new skills. Positions available on 2nd and 3rd shifts after 4
  • 6 weeks of training on 1st shift.
What You Will Do (including but not limited to): Upon completion of the program, individuals will be responsible for: Set up, operation, and adjustment of heat-treat equipment to perform carburizing, cycle annealing and die quenching of gears Physical Qualifications (with or without accommodation). Work in environment with frequently changing temperatures, some extreme. Frequent walking, bending, reaching. Occasional stooping, crouching, and climbing. Repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling rotating. Standing for a minimum of 8 hour shifts.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or previous work/volunteer experience. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures. Experience in a manufacturing environment. Basic computer skills. Ability to work overtime when required, including weekends.
Top Candidates Will Have:
Previous heat treat experience. Previous machine shop experience. Strong commitment to safety at all times. Excellent attitude and willingness to learn.
Additional Information:
2nd shift: Monday
  • Friday 2:30PM
  • 10:30PM. 3rd shift: Monday
  • Friday 10:30PM
  • 6:30AM. Starting pay is $23.22 per hour. $1.00 an hour night shift premium. This is a supplemental position
  • minimum 40 hours per week with limited benefits available. Relocation is not offered for this position. This position requires no travel.
