POSITION SUMMARY

Tool & Die is responsible for a wide variety of set-up and operation of machine tools common to a tool room, production and plant equipment environments. DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
: Level 2 Lead "best in class" behaviors with focus on safety, quality and policies. 2+ years of technical training and 2+ years' experience or equivalent. Effectively and safely operate standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools. Must follow prescribed safety rules and regulation as well as other department policies and procedures. Set up and operate grinders, millers, drill presses, lathes, etc., with limited supervision. Ability to read blueprints and work to close tolerances and set ups that are exacting. Detect, document and report improper die operation and faulty equipment. Capable of basic development work to work out mechanisms and details. Understand and comply with
LOTO, HAZ
Com, PPE, Confined Space and all other Company, State and Federal Safety Programs. Train other Tool & Die staff as needed. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Department Assistant. Perform Tool & Die Level 1 duties and responsibilities. 2+ years of technical training and 4+ years' experience or equivalent. Repairs a wide variety of tools, dies, molds, jigs, fixtures and gauges working to close tolerances. Diagnosis and corrects problems in complicated dies, molds and tools. Performs machining on die components and inserts to either repair or modify a die for production. Provide support to engineering in gathering requested information and beta testing some engineering projects.
REQUIRED
SKILLS and
KNOWLEDGE
: Verbal and written communication in English. Ability to utilize shop math, fraction, decimal, metric, geometry, and trigonometry Certified Forklift Driver preferred. Understanding of press operation. Understanding of quality requirement and of
ISO 9001
2015 procedures. Use precision measuring instruments; i.e., micrometers, calipers, etc. Knowledge of single and multiple point cutters, cutting speeds and feeds and coolants. Set-up and operation of Tool Room Machine tools, to include but not limited to: vertical milling machines, turning, drilling, tapping and boring; grinding-surface, tool and cutter and pedestal. Knowledge of company policies, shop and safety rules. As required, ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and lift cumbersome and or heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
