This is a hands-on role responsible for building, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining progressive dies used in high-volume metal stamping environments. The ideal candidate will have experience working with precision tooling, die maintenance, machining equipment, and progressive stamping dies. Candidates should possess strong blueprint reading skills, a solid understanding of metal forming processes, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Progressive Die Stamping experience is required. Key Responsibilities Build, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain progressive stamping dies. Analyze blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and tooling specifications. Plan and execute die builds, modifications, and repairs. Set up and operate manual and CNC tool room equipment including: Mills Lathes Surface Grinders EDM Wire Machines Machining Centers Perform die maintenance to minimize downtime and improve tooling performance. Machine, fit, and assemble precision die components. Inspect finished tooling using precision measuring instruments. Diagnose tooling issues and implement corrective actions. Support production by troubleshooting die-related issues on the manufacturing floor. Modify existing dies to improve productivity, quality, and tool life.
Verify dimensions and tolerances using:
Micrometers Calipers Height Gages Gauge Blocks Other Precision Measuring Instruments Assist with new tooling launches and die tryouts. Maintain tooling records and labor tracking documentation. Perform preventative maintenance and maintain organized work areas. Follow all safety procedures and quality standards. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 4 years of Tool & Die experience, apprenticeship, vocational training, or equivalent work experience. Progressive Die Stamping experience is required. Experience building and repairing progressive dies.
Strong understanding of:
Metal Stamping Processes Tool & Die Manufacturing Precision Machining Tool Room Operations Ability to read and interpret: Blueprints Tool Drawings Engineering Specifications Experience operating: Surface Grinders Mills Lathes EDM Wire Equipment Machining Centers Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications Fineblanking experience Transfer die experience CNC machining knowledge Welding experience Tool room leadership experience Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with: Noise Moving machinery Oils and lubricants Dust and metal particles Why Apply?
