Job Description Depending on experience, responsibilities include: Review manufacturing information (e.g., process routing, 3D model, workholding) of new or existing parts, as applicable, to ensure proper development or update of tool design documentation and set up of part (s) for manufacturing Evaluate and design workholding as needed to manufacture part(s) in selected machines Create new or modify existing 3D Models and 2D Prints of selected workholding utilizing CAD software. Properly set up workholding documentation in manufacturing systems as per Standard Processes Create new or modify existing 3D Models and 2D Prints of selected cutting assemblies, tool components and manufacturing engineering models as needed Properly set up documentation in manufacturing systems as per Standard Processes Update machine tool models according to specification. Modify and troubleshoot models to ensure accurate design Create machining/assembly layouts for manufacturing Assist with any tool design inquiry, issue, or concern on a promptly matter to ensure manufacturing of parts to specification Provide shop support as needed for tool design inquiries Participate of engineering team meetings, and collaborate as needed Identify opportunities for tool design optimization and cost reduction Work with cross-functional teams, Manufacturing Engineers, Quality EngineersOperations Leaders on assigned projects or activities Manage multiple projects, prioritize requests and meet timelines
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor or Associate's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or similar field is preferred Strong knowledge in manufacturing, specially machining processes such as turning, milling, drilling and tapping is required At least two years of work experience on fixture/tool design, 3D modeling and 2D drawing, is required Must have experience in 3D/2D CAD/CAM systems. NX and Creo/Pro-E preferred Ability to read blueprints is a must. Ability to handle multiple projects and to meet deadlines is required Strong written and verbal communication skills are required Ability to read and understand regulations and procedures is required Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
