Position Summary:
Yorkville Community Unit School District 115 is seeking a dedicated and highly qualified .7 FTE Assistive Technology Specialist The AT Specialist is responsible for leading the district-wide evaluation, implementation, and management of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology systems. This role focuses on streamlining supports across the district, ensuring that AT is integrated directly into the curriculum. The specialist works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and device representatives to support students with complex communication needs from initial assessment through transition.
Education:
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology preferred
Licensure/Certification:
Valid State Licensure as an SLP and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
Experience:
Preferred experience in AAC evaluation, SETT framework application, and multi-modal access methods (EyeGaze, switches).
Skills:
Strong technical aptitude for device programming, excellent collaborative leadership skills, and proficiency in writing medical-necessity reports for insurance. Starting salary is $60,386 MS+0 on the extended salary matrix This position is covered under the Yorkville Collective Bargaining Agreement (2022-2026), which includes a regionally competitive salary and benefits package.
