Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Tool & Die Supervisor to lead our manufacturing operations in Wichita, KS. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of our tool and die department, managing production schedules, quality standards, and a skilled team of tool and die makers and machinists. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining equipment, and driving continuous improvement initiatives while upholding the highest safety and quality standards.

Supervise and coordinate daily activities of tool and die technicians, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality specificationsMonitor CNC & equipment operations and troubleshoot technical issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivityConduct quality inspections and implement corrective actions to ensure products meet precision specifications and customer requirementsDevelop and implement production schedules, allocating resources effectively to meet deadlinesTrain and mentor team members on proper tool and die manufacturing techniques, safety protocols, and equipment operationMaintain accurate production records, inventory management, and documentation for compliance and analysisIdentify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costsEnsure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies; conduct regular safety briefings and auditsCollaborate with engineering and design teams to review specifications and resolve manufacturing challengesManage equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate with maintenance personnel to prevent operational disruptionsAnalyze production data and performance metrics to identify trends and recommend strategic improvements
Inventory Management:
Maintain proper stock levels of tools, dies, and materials to support uninterrupted production
Training & Development:
Mentor and train new team members, ensuring they have the skills to perform their roles effectively
Leadership:
Strong ability to manage, motivate, and develop a teamQualificationsMinimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a tool and die manufacturing or precision machining environmentComprehensive knowledge of tool and die design, fabrication, and manufacturing processesProficiency in CNC machine programming and operationStrong understanding of precision measurement tools, gauges, and quality control proceduresDemonstrated expertise in production planning, scheduling, and resource allocationProven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop technical staffSolid problem-solving and analytical abilities with attention to detailProficiency with CAD software and familiarity with manufacturing documentationKnowledge of OSHA safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environmentStrong organizational and communication skills
Preferred:
Experience with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
Preferred:
Familiarity with ERP systems and production management software
Preferred:
