Southwick, MA
- First Shift M-F 7am-4:30pm Southwick, MA
- Second Shift M-F 3:30pm-12am Westfield, MA
- First Shift M-F 7am-4:30pm The chosen candidates will be responsible for the setup and operation of deburring equipment to remove burrs and finish metal components according to engineering drawings, work orders, and customer specifications.
Qualifications Needed:
Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and deburring instructions Ability to pass and maintain Certified Operator Program certification Experience using deburring tools and equipment including high-speed air tools, grinders, belt sanders, wire brushes, files, scrapers, and cutoff wheels Ability to produce full radius finishes and meet blueprint specifications Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate with engineering on tooling prove-outs Ability to train or mentor other Burrhands Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred
Responsibilities Include:
Set up and operate deburring equipment to remove burrs from external and internal components Use abrasive tools and cutoff wheels to achieve required finishes and specifications Follow operation sheets, blueprints, and verbal instructions to meet quality standards Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges Ensure compliance with
AS9100 / ISO9001
quality standards including documentation, revision control, traceability, and lot control Complete required production and inspection documentation Maintain tools, gauges, and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition Identify production improvements and support process efficiency initiatives These Burr Hand positions are integral to maintaining high-quality standards in their production process.
