Job Description

Atlantic Sintered is seeking an experienced Die Setter for our 220+ employee manufacturing business located in Wrentham, MA. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of die setter and/or mechanic experience, preferably in a manufacturing business, and pay will be based on this experience level. This is a day shift position working Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm. Atlantic Sintered is a leading manufacturer of powder metal parts for the vehicle, truck, electronic and industrial markets. PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Die Setter is responsible for setting up powder metal presses safely, to the written work instructions and per the equipment manufacturer's guidelines. The Die Setter removes powder metal tooling and inspects tools for defects. The Die Setter installs tooling and sets machine to established parameters and ensures press is capable to the specifications of the parts. This is a physically demanding job requiring the movement of heavy steel tools and product.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following is a brief description of some of the duties and responsibilities (not limited to the following): A. Reads and understands written work instructions. B. Inspects tools C. Installs tooling into presses and brings part to size and density D. Installs pick and place robotics. E. Makes product on press F. Visually and dimensionally inspects parts produced on machines. G. Performs quality audits of product and records on first piece inspection cards H. Completes production and setup paperwork. I. Makes adjustments on machines. J. Trouble shoots machine problems.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
The following is a brief description of the technical skills and experience required: A
  • Excellent mechanical ability/background. B
  • Physical ability to move 45 lb tools and to transport 500 lbs skids on pallet jacks. C
  • Able to work safely around equipment. D
  • Able to learn to use a quality measuring tools (mics, indicator, hardness, etc.). E
  • Have good mechanical understanding and comfortable around heavy machinery.
