Baltimore, MD Job Details Full-time 20 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Tool & die High school diploma or GED Wood materials Mechanical knowledge Full Job Description K & W finishing, inc., a print-finishing (bindery) company located in Baltimore, Maryland, is seeking an experienced Steel Rule Die Maker to join its team. Successful candidates will have the ability to interpret die lines and create steel rule dies with accuracy and precision. We are making flat, steel-rule dies to die-cut paper products. (Metal rule pounded into wood pre-cut on a Gerber table.) Hours will be Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (day shift), overtime as available/necessary. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED 5 years experience in steel rule die making
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to make decisions on the best way to produce a quality finished piece; Strong understanding of die-cutting processes, materials and tolerances; Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills; Ability to read, interpret, and understand, instructions, and to communicate in English; Familiar with CAD Programs Gerber's and automatic benders a plus; Understand rubbering requirements; Prior experience in the printing industry not required but preferred; Team player; ability to work well with others; Able to understand what is required of each job and communicate requirements effectively to others; Maintain the quality our customers expect; Ability to take constructive criticism designed to help the candidate learn and grow within the position; Able and willing to work in a job environment which requires exposure to possible bodily injury from moving mechanical parts of equipment, tools, or machinery
