Die Setter -Progressive Stamping Location:
Mount Clemens, MI Job Description Seeking an Intermediate‑level Die Setter responsible for the setup, installation, and optimization of progressive dies in stamping presses to support production goals. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient press operation, high‑quality parts, and safe manufacturing practices. Key Responsibilities Day‑to‑Day Duties Include:
Set up and install progressive dies into stamping presses according to job specifications and production schedules Adjust press parameters including feed length, shut height, sensors, and press settings to ensure proper operation and part quality Perform first‑piece inspections and make necessary adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and consistent quality Safely operate stamping presses while monitoring production output for defects, abnormalities, or equipment issues Conduct minor die maintenance , including: Sharpening punches Replacing springs Cleaning and servicing die components Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to die performance, material feed, or machine function Maintain accurate setup and production records , including: Part counts Setup times Maintenance and adjustment logs Follow all company safety policies and procedures ; immediately report hazards, defects, or malfunctions Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to tooling efficiency, die setup processes, and production flow Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall production and company goals Required Skills Progressive die setup and operation Die setting Stamping press operation First‑piece inspection Understanding of die maintenance and repair Preventive maintenance knowledge related to tooling and presses Ability to read and interpret die designs and part requirements Top Skills Progressive dies Die setting Stamping presses First‑piece inspection Additional Skills & Qualifications (Nice to Have) Hands‑on die maintenance experience Experience Level Intermediate level (hands‑on experience setting and supporting progressive dies in a production stamping environment) Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Clemens, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
