Job Description

About the Role As an Aerospace Tooling Technician, you will play a critical role in the production lifecycle by constructing high-precision jigs and fixtures that ensure structural integrity for complex aerospace components. You will leverage your expertise in manual machining and metrology to translate engineering designs into functional assembly tools that drive manufacturing accuracy. Responsibilities Construct and assemble complex tooling, jigs, and fixtures by strictly adhering to engineering blueprints and technical specifications. Utilize precision measurement instruments and straightedges to establish accurate reference points and tooling holes, ensuring optimal alignment. Maintain operational continuity by performing necessary repairs, modifications, and rework on existing production tooling. Develop fabrication sketches and technical documentation to support efficient assembly processes. Operate manual machine shop equipment, including Bridgeport mills, lathes, and surface grinders, to fabricate custom components. Ensure all tooling meets rigorous quality standards, contributing to the overall precision of the final aerospace assemblies. Qualifications Required Skills 5+ years of hands-on experience in precision jig and fixture fabrication. Advanced proficiency in interpreting complex blueprints, including GD&T standards and 3D CAD models. Expertise in utilizing hand metrology tools and precision measurement equipment. Strong background in manual machining operations such as milling, turning, and grinding. U.S. citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident status is required for this role. Preferred Skills Demonstrated ability to perform complex mathematical calculations for tooling geometry. Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. Proven track record of troubleshooting and resolving mechanical assembly challenges.
