This position works from blueprints, CAD designs, and engineering specifications to build, maintain, and repair molds while ensuring tooling performs efficiently and meets quality standards. The Mold Maker will also assist with mold disassembly, cleaning, maintenance, and safe handling of tooling components. Essential Responsibilities Construct, rebuild, troubleshoot, and repair molds and tooling. Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, engineering sketches, and assembly designs. Plan mold builds according to specifications and tolerances. Analyze tolerances to ensure components meet intended use requirements. Assemble mold components using Bills of Materials (BOMs). Verify conformance of parts using measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers. Fit and assemble mold components using hand tools and power tools. Grind and bench surfaces to minimize tooling flaws and ensure proper fit. Install and test mold components to verify proper operation. Create machined details using manual machines as needed. Perform spotting and assembly of cavity and core components to maintain functional parts. Assemble pneumatic and plumbing components within molds. Route and wire components to control panels as required. Diagnose mold issues and complete necessary repairs or replacements. Perform preventive and routine maintenance on molds and tooling. Operate overhead cranes and hilo/forklift equipment safely. Assist with moving, disassembly, cleaning, and troubleshooting of molds and components. Follow all company safety, housekeeping, environmental, and quality standards. Welding experience is a plus. Qualifications & Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required. Experience with mold construction, repair, and maintenance preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical documents. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to properly use shop equipment, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring devices. Strong attention to detail and quality standards. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and follow prescribed methods and procedures. Must have required personal tools for the position.
Pay:
$28.00 - $34.00 per hour
