5AM-1:30
PM Pay:
Starting at $20-21/hr
Summary:
In this role, you'll play a vital role in the production of high-performing engine components by performing machining operations at a designated workstation. Your responsibilities will involve adhering to detailed standard work and instructions to ensure consistent and accurate component manufacturing. You'll leverage various tools and equipment to precisely manufacture parts to specification, while maintaining strict quality control standards. Machine Setup & Operation Operate machine tools including lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders to fabricate parts to exact specifications. Set up and adjust basic and specialized machinery, aligning fixtures, cutting tools, and materials securely before production. Monitor machining processes, adjusting feed rates and machine speeds continuously to optimize production quality. Utilize auxiliary equipment including metalworking, brazing, heat-treating, welding, or cutting tools as required. Quality Control & Measurement Analyze technical documents such as blueprints, engineering drawings, and sample parts to determine the ideal fabrication sequence. Layout and mark raw metal stock to accurately guide planned cuts. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using precision layout and measurement data. Inspect finished units using calipers, micrometers, and vernier gauges to detect defects and guarantee absolute conformance to specifications. Maintenance & Shop Safety Maintain machine tools regularly, ensuring equipment is properly lubricated, cooled, and in peak operational condition. Diagnose equipment malfunctions to perform necessary mechanical adjustments, component replacements, or repairs using hand and power tools. Manage scrap materials by separating, recycling, or disposing of waste in strict compliance with company policies and environmental regulations. Optimize shop workflows by evaluating active machining procedures and recommending adjustments to boost efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills Education:
High School Diploma or GED required; a relevant technical or trade school degree is highly preferred.
Experience:
Open to recent technical school graduates with hands-on machinery exposure.
Technical Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude with a proven ability to accurately read and utilize calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Blueprint Reading:
Ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and technical blueprints.
Problem Solving:
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to resolve machining or mechanical issues independently.
Communication:
Full proficiency in reading, understanding, and executing detailed written and verbal instructions in English.
Work Environment/Physical demand:
Fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing setting. The environment on the shop floor is usually loud, hot and humid in the summer months and involves standing on cement floors with exposure to chemicals and metal particles. PPE is always required on manufacturing floor.
