As a Certified Medical Assistant, Ambulatory Care Technician Certified will structure the patient flow for the physicians in the examination and treatment of patients. As directed by a Physician and University Hospital policy, the Ambulatory Care Technician Certified administers intramuscular and subcutaneous injections which may be delegated under State regulations. The Certified Medical Assistant will support all front end and clinical office procedures. What You'll Do Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to maintain a timely and organized flow of patients and visitors throughout their experience in Ambulatory Care Services and with University Hospital. Obtain clinical data and performs procedures as requested/directed by the provider. Maintain effective working relationship with coworkers; demonstrates teamwork. Verifies patient insurance benefits and precertification for services to be provided. Assists with billing procedures and forms as directed. Maintains safe and clean environment; and prepares clinical space and supplies. What You'll Bring Required Current certification from the certifying Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcare Association (NHA), American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), National Certification Medical association (NCMA) or registration from the American Medical Technologists (AMT); BLS (CPR) from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Applicants may be licensed in the State of New Jersey in another classification permitted by regulations to give intramuscular and subcutaneous injections. Must have attained a satisfactory level of comprehension and experience in the administration of intramuscular and subcutaneous techniques. Must complete and pass annual review of medication administration, including classroom curriculum, hands on participation and successful passing (80 or higher) of post-test. At least one (1) year of related experience in a medical office setting preferred. Must be computer proficient. Bilingual (Spanish, Portuguese, or French) preferred. Preferred Experience in an Ambulatory Care service/outpatient care setting preferred. Candidate to be knowledgeable in Managed Care and Health Insurance in the State of New Jersey. 38 per hour, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
