In-Place Machining Company (IPM) sends experts where the problems are—plants, shipyards, refineries, mills—so production doesn't stop. If you thrive outside the shop and can hold line and geometry under pressure, keep reading. Answer Yes To These? Can you maintain ±0.010 tolerances in unpredictable field environments? Do you run a Bridgeport knee mill and manual engine lathe with confidence? Do GD&T , G-Code, M-Code, and precision metrology feel second nature? Can you read complex blueprints and work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineers? Do you troubleshoot fast, rig safely, and protect quality and safety standards? What You'll Own Set up, operate, and maintain portable machining systems at client sites. Execute custom machining solutions to restore or modify critical assets. Document work, verify dimensions with micrometers/inspection tools, and meet quality targets. Communicate clearly with project teams to deliver results on time. Must-Have Background 5+ years in manual and/or field machining. Strong blueprint interpretation; deep knowledge of cutting tools, materials, speeds & feeds. Basic rigging and safe power tool operation. High school diploma or
GED/HSED
required; Journeyman or technical degree preferred. Certs & Logistics OSHA 10 Valid driver's license IPM Overhead Crane Training certification Forklift training & valid license Frequent travel (some weekends); comfortable using mobile apps for time/expenses
Pay, Perks, and Path Compensation:
$100,000+ annually (based on experience)
