Objective:
Maintain, repair, and build tools to meet customer specifications safely and efficiently. Perform basic machining, disassembly, repair, and reassembly tasks under supervision.
Levels:
Level II:
Repair and troubleshoot tools with guidance.
Level III:
Operate advanced equipment to create complex tools.
Responsibilities:
Follow safety procedures and OSHA standards. Operate CNC or conventional machines to shape parts. File, grind, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly. Test tools and dies, inspect for defects, and make adjustments. Polish surfaces using appropriate tools. Load and unload materials and products. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; post-secondary certification and 3+ years of relevant experience a plus.
Skills:
Mechanical and machining knowledge. Math and problem-solving abilities. Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
Physical Requirements:
Stand and move 95% of the time; occasional kneeling, squatting, or reaching. Lift up to 40 lbs. (aids available for heavier items). Close-range vision and steady hand-arm coordination required.
Environmental Exposure:
Oil, grease, and noise levels up to 88 dB.
