Job Title:
Composite Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled Composite Technician to join our team on the 1st Shift from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, working 10-hour days. The role involves repairing parts and components using advanced composite materials such as 'Prepreg'. Repairs may require the use of a clean room and curing by autoclave or controlled oven. The technician will utilize various composite bonding methods, including co-curing, co-bonding, secondary bonding, and metal bonding with liquid and film adhesives. Responsibilities Repair parts/components using composite materials and methods. Facilitate repairs in a clean room and use autoclave or controlled oven for curing. Utilize co-curing, co-bonding, secondary bonding, and metal bonding methods. Use close tolerance measuring tools such as scales, micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges. Operate hand tools like drill motors, die grinders, rivet guns, and fastener installation tools. Perform alignment and assembly using jigs, templates, and fixtures. Use PPE when cutting, grinding, blending, and sanding. Extensively use bagging materials and properly bag various component shapes and styles. Operate a 'Hot-Bonder' machine for cure procedures. Maintain, clean, and repair shop facilities, equipment, and tooling as required. Safely operate shop equipment such as curing ovens, autoclaves, and vacuum systems. Essential Skills 5+ years of Aviation Composite Fabrication experience Experience in composites manufacturing, repair, and corporate settings Proficient with manual and CNC machines, CNC programming, and machining Blueprint reading and interpretation skills Skilled in the use of calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools Ability to work with composite materials, epoxy, and laminations Additional Skills & Qualifications Corporate experience is strongly preferred High School Diploma or GED required Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in an MRO shop environment with a typical day shift starting between 5:00 am and 7:00 am, requiring some flexibility depending on the aircraft schedule. The shop comprises about 20 people and offers a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Solon, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
