Die Repair Technician Heavy Gauge Deep Draw Metal Stamping Facility Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Die Repair Technician to support our heavy gauge deep draw stamping operations serving the commercial vehicle and agriculture industries. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving large stamping dies and tooling used in low-to-medium volume contract manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and tooling knowledge, experience with deep draw stamping dies, and the ability to work closely with production, engineering, and toolroom personnel to maintain tooling performance and product quality. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain deep draw, progressive, transfer, and line dies used in heavy gauge metal stamping operations Perform die tear-downs, inspections, preventative maintenance, and complete die rebuilds Diagnose tooling issues related to dimensional quality, material flow, forming, splitting, wrinkling, and press performance Repair or replace die components including punches, die sections, draw pads, pressure systems, retainers, pilots, springs, and guide components Perform spotting, fitting, shimming, and alignment of tooling components to maintain proper die function Operate toolroom equipment including grinders, mills, lathes, welders, and other manual machining equipment Support press setup and troubleshooting during production runs and die tryouts Work closely with engineering, production, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve tooling and process-related issues Assist with engineering changes, tooling improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives Maintain tooling records and document repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance activities Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area Required Skills & Qualifications Experience repairing and maintaining metal stamping dies in a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of deep draw and heavy gauge stamping processes Ability to troubleshoot forming and tooling issues related to commercial vehicle or agricultural components Ability to read blueprints, die drawings, and precision measuring instruments Experience operating manual toolroom equipment including grinders, mills, lathes, and welding equipment Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and manage multiple tooling priorities Good communication and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with large tonnage presses and deep draw applications Welding and fabrication experience CNC machining experience a plus Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work around industrial machinery for extended periods Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, oil, and varying temperatures Schedule & Environment Full-time position (4x10 hour week) in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production schedules and tooling demands Why Join Us Stable manufacturing environment supporting essential industries Opportunity to work on large, complex tooling and forming applications Team-oriented culture focused on quality, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement Competitive pay and benefits package
