Job Description

TSM Metal Works is a growing sheet metal fabrication company on the Cumberland Plateau. We are looking for an experienced Powder Coating Specialists who is enthusiastic and willing to take the initiative to ensure that products are coated to the highest quality while maintaining company safety protocols. All job offers will be contingent upon the candidate passing a physical, drug test, and background check. TSM Metal Works is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

$20-27 /hr
Essential Duties:
Preparation:
Accurately clean, degrease, sandblast, or chemically treat metal surfaces in preparation for coating.
Application:
Operate and maintain manual and automatic electrostatic powder coating equipment (guns and booths) to apply coatings uniformly and efficiently.
Curing:
Load components into curing ovens and monitor temperature and time according to powder manufacturer specifications to ensure proper polymerization and finish quality.
Quality Control:
Inspect finished products for uniform coverage, appropriate mil thickness, adherence, and proper cure, ensuring compliance with job specifications.
Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on coating equipment, air compressors, and ventilation systems to ensure optimal performance.
Inventory:
Manage and organize powder inventory, masking supplies, and chemical pre- treatment solutions.
Packaging:
Package parts, ensuring parts arrive to the customer undamaged.
Safety:
Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE (respirators, gloves, etc.). Qualifications Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Powder Coater in a professional setting.
Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of electrostatic powder application techniques, various powder types (e.g., epoxies, polyesters, urethanes), and pre-treatment methods.
Equipment Proficiency:
Proven ability to troubleshoot and maintain powder coating systems, including pumps, guns, and fluidizers.
Detail-Oriented:
Exceptional attention to detail for achieving high-quality aesthetic and protective finishes.
Physical Stamina:
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Communication:
Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and safety instructions. Day shift is typically Monday to Friday from 5:00am to 3:30pm. The typical week is scheduled for 48
