Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on automotive dies. Support the Stamping Department, maintaining the dies to meet production standards and goals in a timely manner. Maintain die PM (preventive maintenance) system, including detailed work instructions and manage on schedule completion of PM activities. Support defect troubleshooting procedures. Support die preparation check sheets and trial procedures. Maintain die spare parts lists and ensure parts are set up and in stock. Follow die cleaning method and adherence to schedule. Identify and implement proactive systems to achieve consistent reduction in stamping defects and productivity concerns. Support development of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for production dies to identify critical risks and develop appropriate control plans. Troubleshooting in press line and minimize die down times during production. Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of experience working in automotive die maintenance and repair. Experience may be gained as part of the required education, including co-op and/or internship experience. Of the required work experience, must have at least 5 years of experience in each of the following: Die spotting in tryout press; Large line/transfer die manufacturing and maintenance for interior and exterior Class A, B, C automobile components; CNC die surface machining; Interpreting dimensional inspection results: checking fixture, CMM, or vision system; Working with and developing production performance metrics: efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, or costs; Die crash repair experience on large line and transfer dies; and Production support and die maintenance on dies producing aluminum stamped exterior components. Experience may be gained as part of the required education, including co-op and/or internship experience. Domestic travel required up to 20% and international travel required up to 10% to visit other Tesla and/or vendor sites. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
