Job Description

Job Summary:
As a Tool Machinist, you are responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and repairing tooling, fixtures, and related gaging systems that support production and quality objectives. You work closely with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to support tool prove‑in projects, process improvements, and ongoing production needs. By applying your technical expertise, blueprint knowledge, and attention to detail, you help ensure tooling reliability, process efficiency, and compliance with quality and safety standards in a manufacturing environment. $17.00 an hour
Responsibilities:
Build, repair, modify, and enhance fabrication tooling based on established priorities and production schedules Convert customer data, blueprints, and engineering specifications into accurate tooling designs and solutions Provide regular updates on tooling status and progress to ensure project timing and production requirements are met Assist in developing operational and maintenance instructions related to tooling and machinery Conduct research and development activities for fabrication tooling as assigned Monitor, maintain, and safeguard tooling assets, including identification, revision control, and obsolescence management Identify and document issues related to product quality, process efficiency, or quality system compliance and initiate preventive actions Recommend and implement tooling and process improvements through appropriate channels Support die design activities as required Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and immediately report hazards or safety concerns Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and productivity Complete assigned projects in a timely manner to support production schedules Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required At least two years of hands-on experience in tool making within a manufacturing environment Demonstrated experience in simulated design builds, prototype development, and mold or tool design Strong background in interpreting blueprints and engineering documentation, including experience with tooling and materials testing, inspection methods, and FMEA methodology Solid understanding of profile extrusion, fabrication, and related manufacturing processes Working knowledge of IATF 16949, EMS, and Quality Management System awareness requirements Ability to understand and support internal and external customer requirements in alignment with company objectives Awareness of Environmental Policy and its relevance to daily job responsibilities Understanding of how tooling activities impact quality, cost, and delivery performance Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (verbal and written) preferred Capacity to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment Ability to perform job duties requiring prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and kneeling, handling tools and materials, and lifting or moving items weighing up to 25-50 lbs., with sufficient strength and stamina to work safely in a manufacturing environment
