POSITION SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Tool Crib Associate is responsible for managing, maintaining, and issuing tooling, equipment, and supplies used in manufacturing operations. This role requires strong inventory control skills, attention to detail, and deep familiarity with tooling systems, machining environments, and shop floor processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain accurate inventory of tools, consumables, and equipment within the tool crib. Handle cash and POS transactions with full integrity, maintaining accurate records and strict compliance with internal audits and inventory controls. Issue, receive, and track tools and materials to/from production personnel. Inspect returned tools for wear or damage; coordinate repair, replacement, or calibration. Monitor tool usage and stock levels to ensure uninterrupted production flow. Perform cycle counts and support periodic inventory audits. Utilize ERP/MRP systems or tool tracking software to document transactions. Order tools, parts, and supplies in coordination with purchasing or management. Maintain documentation including tool records, calibration logs, and usage history. Support machining and fabrication teams by ensuring availability of correct tooling. Assist in implementing tool control procedures and continuous improvement initiatives. Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment. Occasionally assist in other operational areas to absorb workload surges.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. 5+ years of experience in a tool crib, manufacturing, machining, or similar environment. Strong knowledge of tooling applications (cutting tools, inserts, gauges, fixtures, etc.). Strong understanding of tool maintenance, calibration, and lifecycle management.
