TOOL MAKER/MACHINIST
Reporting directly to the Tool Room Supervisor, the Tool Maker/Machinist is responsible for executing, planning and coordinating tool and die repair and maintenance activities. The Tool Maker/Machinist will assist in the training of new team members, existing team members, and team members seeking advancement of specific skills. The individual will participate in improving work methods, standard work, problem-solving, and continuous improvement efforts.
What You'll Do :

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Perform maintenance and construction of tooling and dies safely and proficiently. Prioritize, plan and coordinate Tool Making activities. Perform/assist with hands-on training with other team members on standard tooling practices. Perform Standard Work by following Work/Operator Instructions/Training Communicate with a positive demeanor to all Spacesaver team members. Keep up-to-date tooling-related records for repair and evaluations. Act as a contact for day-to-day tooling-related issues in the absence of the Team Leader or Supervisor. Complete all required safety training. What We're Looking For Apprentice or Journeyman Tool & Die Maker or Machinist with a minimum of 2 years of Technical School Training in tool and die/machining or 5-7 years working in Tool & Die or Machining field Proven experience operating CNC turning and milling equipment. Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of common die practices and machining consistent with a Machining/Cutting environment. Ability to generate handwritten and electronic correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to other team members. Proven skill interpreting drawings and part specifications. Solid PC familiarity, including Microsoft Office applications. Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to understand complex issues and systematically work toward resolution. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and memos in the English language. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other team members. •Please note that translation assistant can be provided through a request to HR. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment. Good time management and organizational skills, ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and be attentive to detail. Ability to acquire and maintain certifications for operation of service equipment; fork lift, overhead crane, and others as needed. Are our values a match? No one succeeds alone.
