Aids tool and die makers in preparation of materials used in plastic extrusion tooling. Build, repair and maintain dies, tooling, fixtures and equipment to support production. 1stShift Monday-Thursday 7am-4pm Friday 7am-11am
Essential Job Functions:
Craft precision tools by studying specifications, engineering blueprints, tool orders, and shop data to make, alter, or repair tools, jigs, fixtures, dies, molds, or gauges of difficult design that are used to cut, form, and shape metal and other materials. Craft metal dies used to shape plastic profile extrusions. Repair worn or damaged tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges. Design and work with production in testing tools for new products and help production with process improvements. Set up and operate all tool room equipment including HAAS Mill and Makino EDM. Assist production with problem solving on tooling issues. Clean and organize work area and perform preventative maintenance on equipment when required
Job Requirements:
1. 1 - 5 years of Tool & Die experience ideally in plastic extrusion tooling. 2. CAD/CAM training and a minimum of one year CAD experience using AutoCAD, MasterCam and/or PEPS. 3. Must be able to perform TIG welding on Steel and Aluminum. 4. Alignment with GaMra mission, vision, values & operating principles 5. Standing, bending, lifting, twisting, and walking on concrete floor. 6. Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. 7. Ability to work in a cooperative manner with others in a team environment. 8. Be a self-starter with a good work ethic. 9. Have good communication skills. 10. Good problem solving skills. 11. Ability to read and utilize measuring tools. i.e. calipers, gauges etc. 12. Must be willing to work overtime as required.
